On some versions of Unit4, such as 7.3, the error message “Position Illegal” can come up when a manager is trying to amend an existing absence for their staff.
This error is normally displayed when they have re-opened the existing absence by filtering only by the employee’s Res ID.
In this case, they will also need to fill in the containing date field to be able to save any amendments on that existing absence.
If this message appears when the user is raising an expense claim, it means they need to pay attention to the field in question and either fill it in or insert an existing attribute. The system will usually highlight the relevant field in red. If it only shows the title "Errors: 1", clicking on it will expand the error message.
This type of message will alert the user to something they haven’t done, and they might need to step through each field on the screen before saving it or proceeding to the next step.
If, when raising an expense claim, the user gets a 'Limit Warning' message, it means they have surpassed the limit they can be reimbursed for some of the items they are claiming. If they click 'OK' to the message and try to save again, the bottom of the page will show the amount limit they have exceeded and the difference. This could either be a mistype by the user, or they can choose to ignore the message and save the expense so the manager can decide if it will be approved or not.
